WaterDrop & Other Water Flavourings

Many neurospicy clients struggle with water as it tastes different out of every tap. Sugar-free cordials and other things can be added to bring uniformity to the taste of water and encourage water drinking.

Recently I bought the taster pack for WaterDrop, which is a company that makes little dissolvable cubes you put in water to flavour it - they're vegan friendly, sugar-free, gluten-free and come in multiple flavours.

First impressions are that takes a good 2-5min to fully dissolve - not as fast as hydralyte or berocca style tablets. Because each flavour is different, and for some of us not only taste, but smell and appearance are major factors, I'll go through the two I've tried so far:

Blackcurrant and Elderberry: This one has a really nice light purple colour and isn't overly sweet - although the sweetness it does have has an artificial aftertaste. It's got a very mild sweet smell and overall does a good job of covering up the inherent taste of the water.

Pineberry Passionfruit: The first thing that stuck out to me was its strange colour, it's almost clear but has a light yellow hue. Unlike the other one, this one has a more noticeable sweet smell like a nice tropical cordial. The flavour isn't as strong as cordial and has a much weaker flavour, but it's very pleasant and definitely had a nicer aftertaste.

Overall they're both very nice and although similar to sugar-free cordial, they come in convenient little cubes that you can take around with you. Of course, just water by itself is always going to be the healthiest option, but little things like these to help encourage the drinking of water will always be better than no water.
